Who would have thought that BOTY would go from starting out back in 1990 in a local youth culture centre with 500 hard core fans to an arena packed with more than 12,000 roaring spectators and B-Boy crews from all over the world taking part. BOTY has grown massively, more and more people can relate to the vision of evolving the spirit of breakdance and creating an international event platform that allows B-Boys and B-Girls from all different countries to express their creativity in front of an ever-growing audience BOTY 2010 was huge -- and our aim is to keep it growing, evolving and pushing it to become the best Battle Of The Year we can possibly achieve, to once again prove that the event has earned its position as a milestone of the breaking and B-Boying scene. At last year's finals in Montpellier, JinJo Crew excelled among the globe's 17 best crews and won the title with an incredible performance that impressed both the judges and the enthusiastic crowd. In the exciting International WeB*Girlz Battle, ChiChan Narumi from Japan came out on top , while US B-Boy Thésis left behind his competition in the OnevsOne battles taking place the night before the big finals. For its 2011, the Braun Battle Of The Year finals will return to Arena Montpellier. With new title sponsor Braun cruZer on board the event will be even bigger, better and more spectacular than ever, bringing the spirit of hip hop to life. In the lead-up to this year's thrilling finals, the BOTY qualification series has already started. All over the world, B-Boy crews are preparing their shows, refining their choreography and practicing their battle skillz in order to out-dance their competition. All are highly motivated, dreaming large about winning a coveted ticket to the finals and representing their country on the big stage. Qualifiers will get the chance to battle it out at the finals, taking place November 19, 2011 at Arena Montpellier in France. Also planned are plenty of side events to make the upcoming Braun BOTY 2011 a true celebration of hip hop and breakdance culture.
