Part 1 of 2 When Charlie Ahearn, director of the 80s Hip Hop cult movie Wild Style brought the Wild Style Tour to Japan, they conquered the scene! Charlie Ahearn supported the producers of the clips in acquiring the original footage from back in the days. He will be in Japan in November to watch the Red Bull BC One and to see how Hip Hop culture evolved since he and his gang established it in the 80s. http://redbullbcone.com Red Bull BC One 及び B-Boying を語る上で必ず出てくる映画が二つある。ひとつは1983年に公開された「Flashdance」、そして同年に出た「Wild Style」。この「Wild Style」の出演者及びクルー達が1983年に来日し、MC、DJ、B-Boy、総勢30人の団体が全国を周る凱旋ツアーを行った。この時彼らが日本の若者に与えたインパクトの強さは、今日に至っても感じ取ることができる。Breaking the Divide - Bronx to Tokyo は、当時の参加者達がサウスブロンクスから始まったヒップホップとB-Boyの歴史、そして「Wild Style」のツアーを日本で行った際のシーンに与えたインパクトについて振り返る。
